What are stand aids?

Stand aids include electrical hoists, sit to stand aids and attachable slings. They are all designed to help you stand up and offer smooth transfers with carer assistance.

What are the benefits of stand aids?

Stand aids reduce the strain put on you and your carers during transfers. With knee pads, handles and attachable slings, our stands aids offer maximum support and comfort during your transfers.

What different stand aids do you offer?

Stand aids – despite their differing designs, all our stand aids feature strong wheels, knee pads and handles for you and your carer. They help you rise out of your seat and transfer you to another chair or area, such as the toilet. Most of our stand aids include hooks or rings so slings can be attached, but we also offer a unique standing aid featuring a fold-in seat that is attached to handles on either side. The handles can close behind you to offer a resting seat and to encourage anyone who is able, to stand without assistance.

Slings – we offer slings for standing and seated transfers. Stand assist slings offer upper body support during standing transfers, whilst seated slings enable you to be transferred in a seated position and offer full body support.

What should I consider when choosing a stand aid?

Support – we provide stand aids and slings that offer seated or standing support. Make sure you establish the level of support each aid offers, to confirm if it is appropriate for you. You don’t want to purchase a standing sling if you require seated transfers!
