Reminiscence activities include a selection of picture cards, games and question books that depict historical events and figures or inspire discussions about your own life. They are all designed to encourage recall of your own memories and of history.
Reminiscence activity aids are a fun way to encourage memory recall through your visual and aural senses. Pictures and discussions of past decades are a valuable tool in helping anyone living with dementia or memory loss to recollect the past.
Books – we offer numerous books, including a quiz and song book. The song book is easy to read and features one hundred well know songs for all ages to enjoy. The quiz book focuses on the mid twentieth-century and is ideal to help anyone living with dementia reminisce about historical events.
Cards – our selection of reminiscence activity cards includes picture cards and decade discussion cards. The picture card packs we offer have black and white and colour images of well-known figures, including the royal family. Decade discussion cards have a large photograph of a famous event or person and further information on the back of the card. Cards are ideal to stimulate a discussion that can encourage recall, especially for older people who are living with dementia or memory loss.
Games – we offer a personal reminiscence game that encourages you to recollect your own life history. This contains question cards and can be played individually or as a group.
Age – it is vital to consider the age of the person who will be using our reminiscence activities. Although some of our products, like our song book, are ideal for different ages, our decade packs and pictures cards are more suited to older generations. These cards depict events of the past and are appropriate for anyone who lived through them.Click here to view all our Health Aids and Personal Care Aids
