What are positioning and comfort aids?

Our positioning and comfort aids are designed to ensure your bed remains a place of relaxation. Our aids, including wedges, mattress tilters and blanket cradles, all help you to rest comfortably in bed, or give you support when getting in and out of bed.

What are the benefits of positioning and comfort aids?

If you’re living with a disability or age-related health condition, positioning aids can help you gain confidence and independence when manoeuvring in bed.

What positioning and comfort aids do you offer?

Back rests, pillows and wedges – these aids all enable you to sit or recline comfortably in bed. Our backrests and pillows are specifically designed to rest behind you for neck and back support, and our wedges can offer leg support for those who need it.

Mattress tilters – like wedges, mattress tilters angle your bed to a reclined position. However, our mattress tilters fit under your mattress, instead of on top. They can be used at either end of the bed to give support to your upper or lower body.

Lifting supports – we offer ladder and pole support aids to be used in bed, so you can lift yourself up independently. Bed ladders are designed with multiple straps in a ladder formation to help you pull yourself steadily into a seated position. Our pole support aid has an overhanging handle that fits over your bed to lift yourself up.

Blanket cradles – blanket cradles are designed to reduce irritation and friction on your skin by fitting under your duvet or blanket to keep bedding off your legs.

What should I consider when choosing a positioning or comfort aid?

Size and fitting − even though our positioning and comfort aids can be fitted to many bed types, it is vital to check the size and fitting of the product, and your own bed, to ensure that the comfort aid will fit securely.
