World Diabetes Day: Types and Treatments
As part of World Diabetes Day 2016, we're taking a look at the different types of diabetes, what their warning signs are and how they can be managed effectively.
Raising awareness of World Diabetes Day 2016
The theme for this year is “Eyes on Diabetes” which aims to promote the importance of early diagnosis and raise awareness of the treatment that can be offered to reduce and prevent serious complications. With this in mind we've created a visual graphic which depicts the three main types of diabetes and explains the differences between them to provide a clearer understanding of how each may affect those living with the condition.
Importantly, we've also included some of the warning signs to look out for if you're living with diabetes which may signify there is too much sugar or not enough sugar in your blood - causing hyperglycaemia or hypoglycaemia respectively. Remember, if you tend to have dangerously low blood sugar levels during the night, a Low Blood Sugar Wrist/Ankle Worn Alarm can help identify this and alert you to save precious time in giving yourself treatment.
