Show your support for Armed Forces Day 2016
Armed Forces Day takes place today and gives you the chance show your support for the men and women who make up the armed forces community from current serving troops, veterans, cadets and the service families supporting them. There are hundreds of events taking place to celebrate Armed Forces Day across the country, as a way to show our support for our local heroes and raise awareness of the continuing contributions of the armed forces.
Exciting events around the East Midlands
If you’re looking to show your support in person here are just some of the events happening in and around the Leicester area this weekend:

There will also be various re-enactment stands and interactive displays from all the military services, a funfair and an army beer tent.
Tomorrow, on Sunday 26th June, a parade of all cadet forces, along with other young people from local Royal British Legion affiliated units will parade with pride through the town from Bowden Lane via High Street, where the chairman of Harborough District Council will receive the Cadets salute outside the old grammar school. Then at 2:00pm there will be a drumhead service on the square.
