Our proudest achievements – paving the way for a terrific 2020

Our proudest achievements – paving the way for a terrific 2020

We’re highlighting some of our key moments from this year to celebrate the achievements of our colleagues and let you know how our business intends to make 2020 the best year yet!

2019 has been an inspirational year for NRS Healthcare – we’ve heard many new, brave stories from some amazing people across the disability community, launched a new clinical website and invested heavily in our telecare services. More than that though, the achievements we’ve gained this year have paved the way for 2020 to be our best year yet and we can’t wait to see where the business is this time next year!

Award-winning Technology Enabled Care

One of our proudest achievements from 2019 was when our Technology Enabled Care Services (TECS) Team won the TEC Quality Award at the International Technology Enabled Care Awards in October.

Technology Enabled Care is a rapidly growing area for us as a business and refers to using different technologies in order to enhance levels of care – whether in a professional or home environment. “Telecare” is the most common form of TECS and a basic example could be a personal alarm, usually worn around the wrist or neck. In an emergency you would push the button on the personal alarm to notify someone that you need assistance.

It was great to see the hard work and dedication of our TECS Team recognised at the award ceremony in October and we’re excited to see the growth of our telecare services in 2020.

CECOPS Accreditation

At the start of this year, we were thrilled to announce that we were the first organisation in the industry to gain a CECOPS accreditation for ALL our community equipment and wheelchair services across the UK.

Our CEO Jerry Benson, said "working to the CECOPS framework will help us deliver the “highest possible standard” of service to our customers and stakeholders," whilst CECOPS’ CEO, Brian Donnelly, commented:

"We are delighted that NRS Healthcare sees the value in our standards and scheme. Its commitment to quality and improving standards is impressive and it is evident why they are a leading provider in the space.”

Congratulations again to all our service centres – this really is a fantastic achievement and we are super proud of all our colleagues who helped us to gain this exciting accreditation.

An amazing charitable achievement

October 2019 saw us launch a brand new partnership between NRS Healthcare and the wonderful national charity Carers Trust. As an organisation working closely with unpaid carers and their loved ones, partnering with Carers Trust was a natural step forward for us and we agreed to raise £10,000 for the charity over the next year.

The response we’ve had to the partnership from colleagues across our UK service centres has been nothing short of phenomenal. Since October 2019, we’ve seen fundraisers galore from teams across our business and we are elated to tell you that, in just under 3 months, we’ve raised a stunning £2139 for Carers Trust! This achievement would not have been possible without the unbelievable commitment of our service centre and Head Office staff, so to each and every one of you – THANK YOU.

Colleague achievements recognised

As is customary at the NRS annual Christmas party, colleagues from our Head Office were once again recognised for their achievements and contributions to the business. This year, the 2019 Team of the Year was awarded to our wonderful Payroll Department and our Finance Director, John, wasted no time in having a photo with “the fab four”!

We also paid tribute to our newly appointed Clinical Services Director – Rachel Seabrook. Having joined NRS Healthcare almost 10 years ago, Rachel has 24 years’ experience in occupational therapy and was officially made our new Clinical Services Director in June – an awesome achievement! With Rachel leading the way, our Clinical Services Team has grown from just a handful of occupational therapists at Head Office to over 60 members of staff working across our service centres across the UK.

We are excited to see how the NRS Clinical Services Team will grow even further under the expert guidance of Rachel and look forward to seeing what the future holds for all the team.
