Our Occupational Therapy team continues to grow!

Our Occupational Therapy team continues to grow!

This year, Occupational Therapy Week is about Occupational Therapy professionals being loud and proud, which is why our Clinical Team, including Occupational Therapists, are excited to be developing and growing in numbers across all our UK Service Centres.

After a huge ongoing recruitment drive, our Clinical Lead, Rachel Seabrook, now watches over a Clinical Team of 30 people including 14 Occupational Therapists and 9 Occupational Therapy Assistants – each of whom promise to deliver sound guidance, information and assessments to our growing customer base. With vacancies still to be filled, Rachel is confident that the Occupational Therapy team at NRS Healthcare are fantastically poised to help even more adults and children with additional needs going into 2018 and beyond.

From Product Management to Occupational Therapy

One new recruit to be joining our Occupational Therapy team at Head Office is Kate Saffell – an Assistant Product Manager at NRS for almost 4 years who is making the move to Occupational Therapy Assistant. With an excellent knowledge of products, particularly in the “Mobility and Access” and “Toileting and Bathing” categories, Kate intends to share her invaluable experience with customers, care homes and Occupational Therapists alike to ensure they buy the right equipment for their needs.

“My role in Product Management has given me the opportunity to work closely with the Occupational Therapists for a number of years so I’ve seen and experienced first-hand how much they help our customers – something I’m really keen to be involved with going forward.

My role in the Occupational Therapy team will be very customer focussed and I’ll be able to put my product knowledge to good use when taking calls on the Product Advice Line or answering questions that come in on email or via live webchat. I’m looking forward to finding out the needs of our customers, talking to them about their individual circumstances and helping them to choose a product that will give them the confidence to live more independently.”

The future of our Occupational Therapy team

When asked what first attracted her to the role of Occupational Therapy Assistant, Kate was keen to praise the present Occupational Therapy Team and the exciting future they are facing within the business as a whole.

“There is a really good opportunity for career progression within the Occupational Therapy sector that I’m keen to explore and the training available is vast. The Occupational Therapy Team at NRS is expanding loads at the minute – we’re recruiting more and more Occupational Therapists with a few vacancies still to fill – and that’s also an exciting prospect.

I have the added benefit of knowing and working with the Occupational Therapy team at Head Office for nearly 4 years now and that was a big factor in applying for the role of Occupational Therapy Assistant. Rachel, Helen and Sharon have been really kind, helpful colleagues who always go the extra mile whenever you need them and I’m joining their team with a good foundation in product knowledge. I’m really looking forward to this exciting new adventure!”
