Help is at hand for Buckinghamshire care homes following the launch of a new care equipment hire service by NRS Healthcare.
The scheme is an extension to the work already being carried out across the county by NRS Healthcare, which operates the Integrated Community Equipment Service on behalf of Buckinghamshire County Council and NHS Buckinghamshire.
Sandra King, Brand Director of NRS Healthcare, explained: "We have launched the new scheme in response to guidance that was recently given to care homes by the County Council regarding the provision of equipment for their residents."
"There is often a need for the short term hire of equipment rather than making an expensive purchase and we are perfectly placed to offer care homes an easy solution. We have operated a similar service for the past 18 months in Bournemouth which has worked very well and I'm confident it will be welcomed by Bucks care homes."
NRS Healthcare, which is celebrating 65 years as a leading provider of daily living aids and rehabilitation equipment, is renowned for its Professionals Choice catalogue, which features more than 2,500 pieces of equipment and is widely regarded by occupational therapists working with older and disabled people as the No. 1 point of reference.
Added Sandra: "The Buckinghamshire operation runs from our Service Centre in Aylesbury and we have 12 branded vehicles constantly on the road - delivering, installing, servicing, maintaining and collecting equipment countywide. That makes us uniquely placed to offer a prompt and reliable care equipment hire service."
Among items available for hire are electrically adjustable and bariatric profiling beds, mobile hoists and standing aids with slings, pressure care mattresses and cushions, mobile commode - toileting chairs and assistant and self-propelled shower chairs.
