By opening an employee chocolate shop, and hosting “dress-down Friday’s”, staff members at our Norwich Service Centre have raised a whopping £800 for locally-based charity St. Martins Housing Trust – that’s the equivalent of around 1,330 Dairy Milk bars!

Each year, our Norwich Service Centre chooses one charity to benefit from their fundraising efforts, and over the last 12 month’s staff members have been digging deep for locally-based charity St. Martins Housing Trust, which provides accommodation, residential care and support for homeless people in Norfolk.

Chocolate for charity

To keep spirits high, and the money rolling in for St. Martin’s, Customer Service Agent, Jean Suffling has been running a chocolate shop – available to everyone at our Norwich Service Centre.

“We have a lot of chocoholics in our team here, so we raise money selling them their daily fix! St. Martins does really great work in the local area, so we voted for them to receive our donations for the past year. In previous years the charities have been for local dementia and the air ambulance and this year we have chosen the Teenage Cancer Trust. We have purchased £800 worth of food, clothing and supplies for St. Martin’s, which they have gratefully received.”

Derek Player, General Manager at St. Martins charity, said:

“On behalf of our trustees and service users, I thank you for your generous donation. Your support means a great deal to us in the context of an increasing need for our services. We rely on donations to fulfil our work with people who are facing a major crisis in their lives.”

Smiles all around

One person in particular who is very proud of our staff’s fundraising activities is Michael Faint, Service Manager at Norfolk. Taking time to congratulate his team, Michael wasted no time in saying:

“I’m really proud of everyone for their participation and to Jean for her effort and organisation of our charity projects. I look forward to us supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust through 2017-18”.
